Staff Bios

Vaune Albanese PhotoVaune Albanese has been on the Friendly House staff since June of 1982. She was the founding director of Friendly Chaps (now known as Friendly House After School Program) and has had the opportunity to work with homeless families, elders and children of all ages in her years at Friendly House. In 2005 she was hired to be Friendly House’s 11th executive director, a position she resisted until her son was raised and she felt competent to meet its challenges. She can’t retire until Friendly House has a $1,000,000 Endowment Fund and hopes you will help her get there!

Denise Lafond has worked at Friendly House since October 1994. She holds our institutional knowledge. She has led our CRE team for five years. Her other FH roles include facilities, HR, and insurance. Having grown up in Southern California, Denise set her sites on Oregon as a young woman. She has worked at Friendly House since October 1994.

Friendly House Preschool alumna, Mya Chamberlin is the director of Community Services. She began her service with Friendly House as a teenager volunteering in the Summer Chaps program. Since that time she has worked in various programs with children, seniors and homeless families. “Friendly House is where I got my start, and my roots run deep. Everyday I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing community of people.”
